Fancy Releases
Fancy Cats are created through a specific combination of genes. We’re regularly releasing new Fancies, and finding that genetic combination comes down to analysis, experimentation, and a little luck. Of course, you’re not alone in your quest.
Our Thursday Purrsday events often include community Fancy Chases, where we offer clues to Fancy recipes and players work together in real time to breed them, with major props going to the first one to do it. Our clues come in the form of riddles, puzzles, and Easter Eggs – sometimes the hints appear on our social streams, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Twitch.
One thing that is definitely not a clue are the Fancy Kitty silhouette images we sometimes release. Many players have studied these images in depth, working to sleuth the Kitty’s potential recipe traits based off its Cattributes. But in reality, the traits in a Fancy’s appearance often aren’t reflected in its genetics–in fact, they usually aren’t. So don’t waste valuable breeding time poring over the silhouettes. They’re mostly intended to get the community excited.
All this isn’t to say Thursday Purrsdays are the only way to discover new Fancies. Several Fancies have been uncovered without hints, either by particularly dedicated and perceptive players, or through sheer luck.
Once a Fancy has been discovered, the recipe is usually shared, players light some candles, put on some music, and Kitties start breeding like crazy.
